Welcome "back"
I play magic, too! Coworkers and i bought our first decks two months or so ago and play commander every thursday now. It is fun but i never win xD
I have the "squirreled away" precon, so i basically keep spawing tokens until someone wipes the board and i need many rounds to get back to having board xD Fun to attack with 40 squirrels though
Hey Tyler! It's great to hear from you again! I just read your new blog post; I love hearing about people taking up new hobbies! Magic: The Gathering seems fun, though I've never played it before, and all of the events and get-togethers you've been going to sound like a lot of fun, too!
It has definitely not taken me years upon years to come and look at your site..
To be honest, I was rather intimidated when my browser first loaded your site! It seemed so professional and well thought out! I've taken a gander through the different pages and WHOA. Your site is really really cool
!
The music you've made is super awesome, and it inspired me to pull out my notebook and start working on writing out my thoughts about Transformers: Skybound!
I've done a little bit of music making, mostly through Garage Band, but I know for a while I tried Sonic Pi.. It was one of the most confusing programs I've used XD. All that to say that I think I can certainly understand the effort and time that's gone into your songs, and you have my respect 🫡. I liked Midi Medal especially!
Your CDs and DS's give me the urge to go out and trawl thrift stores! I really like the album Ten, and I wish I had it on CD... Cassette tape is rad, but my stereo doesn't work that great unfortunately
I think your site is 100% awesome, and will definitely be linking to it from mine! Your layout is super cool too, I like the red and black theme. (Except that I just switched away from it on my website?? Who knows whats going on anyways!)
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you like the site
I am really into web design (and have been working as a web dev for a few years now) so I put a lot of work into the look and the layouts and stuff!
I'm happy that you found my music page inspirational. A lot of what I've done on here happened because I was inspired by seeing other really cool pages across the indieweb, and I am happy that my page can also have the same effect on other people.
Shoutout Sonic Pi haha. I also tried it when I discovered live coding music last year, but I found Strudel to be much easier to work with. I also have done a lot of stuff with GarageBand and also like Logic Pro and stuff because I took a music production class in college and had a lot of fun with it!
I agree about cassette tapes. I haven't really collected them before, but I prefer to look for CDs since the audio quality is great on them. I also have collected vinyl in the past but it is just too expensive for me to keep up with.
Ten is definitely one of my favorites in my collection. I actually bought that one on Amazon because I wanted it bad enough to not wait for it to pop up at a local store
Thank you for adding my button It might be a minute before I get around to doing it but I will be moving yours up to my neighbors section
Also good luck with the website redesign!
Will send them all the pets, they will like them and we JUST got an update from the vet that my dog does not have the disease we thought she did, so I'm very happy!!
Hey Tyler! I enjoyed reading your latest life update, and also love the new Tails color theme!
I have so many memories of playing Guitar Hero as a kid and loved it so much! That's also cool you had an opportunity to play a live Jam. I couldn't imagine myself playing on a stage Lol!
I'm sorry to hear about one of your dogs feeling sick, I hope she feels better soon <3
I played so much GH growing up and then a few years ago my friend got me back into it. I wouldn't say I'm the best at it but I have been having fun with it! Clone Hero also helps because the hit boxes are more forgiving.
Yeah, I know I would have had fun at the jam night but I could not get over the fear of going onstage haha.
I just got an update from the vet, and my dog does not have Cushing's disease like we were afraid of! I am very relieved to say the least! I should probably update the blog too
This site kicks so much ass!! I like your pop-outs(is that what they're called? The tiny box that pops out when you click on certain things). Also you have neat shrines can't wait to see what other updates you make
Hi!! I'm glad you like the website!! I think I usually think of them as popups haha. They are using the newish dialog HTML element and I have a lot of fun with them. It helps keep the pages from being too cluttered with a bunch of content!
I'm glad you love the shrines! I definitely plan on making more in the future. They are a lot of fun to put together
your new CD page is so cool!
I was experimenting with creating a book you can flip through a couple of weeks ago and it is similar. But i don't know how SVGs work so i used standard HTML and CSS for it.
What i found is the CSS property "backface-visibility". You can set that to hidden and then create a :after pseudo-element positioned on the cover to hide the mirrored side of the cover. Or create a backside to make it look like the back of the booklet maybe? Maybe something more to try out
Ooooh I saw something about the backface-visibility property but I wasn't sure what ways I could use it! Thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it
Good luck with your book design also!
heyy we're neighbours through the cd-ring! i loveee the design of ur site + i love that you can change the themes!!!! i also lovelovelove the cd collection you have :0 planning to make my own when i get around to it
I am glad that you like the site design! It was a lot of work to get the music collection page together, but I love having a place to talk about all of my music!
Congrats on your working IPod
Yay! You finally got your iPod working! Enjoy listening to your library
I am glad you enjoyed the shrine! I put a lot of love into it, and I am happy that other people can get something out of it too
The soundboard is one of my favorite additions. I knew if I had that much fun spamming the sounds that other people would too
Uuuh, now with themes
I have to look through your music collection!
Added your button in my neighors section
I love the whole site neighborhood model, it's so fun I'm editing my links page right now
I hope you like the themes! I'm going to add some more eventually but I really wanted the purple specifically. It took a lot of CSS sorcery to get it to work haha
I've been slowly adding to the music collection page. I have quite a few CDs left to add!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Simple is exactly what I was going for. I can quickly make stuff too complicated sometimes haha. It was a lot of fun setting up the music page! Having the comments on the various albums is the main reason I wanted to put it together. I wanted somewhere to tell my stories and experiences with the music I listen to!
Thank you again for the comment and if you add my button I'll definitely add yours on to mine too
